These are some of the photos I will be using for my music magazine and there may be some to come.

I really like the idea of one person or a band stood centre page on the front of my magazine. In a good location or with a grey or black background with white writing. However, my colour scheme is a mix of white, black, red and yellow with blue. A good location I believe would be somewhere desolate and dark, for a indie magazine. Somewhere old and worn and with clothes which are like that also. Even the theme could be dirt and it could still work. Women would also be attracted to it also.  I want the setting to be somewhere in the countryside or just weird and that the artists stand out.

 

I want my models that are willing to help to either one be an artist or have a group and for it to look something like this.

The arctic monkeys pictures I also love and I think there really effective and something I am going to try and do with my photography. I think that the group photos would make the most impact and I like them allot better even though I love the vanity one.



I don't really want to use props unless its a funny kind of shoot.If I was to use any I would use paint and put the artist in it if they were also willing to let me. I think it would really good and effective or if not use that one for the cover but use it for the double page spread. For the double page spread I also like this idea for it. If there was many of them .

I think this is a really good photo and would look really well on a double page spread.
I would dress them in indie clothes, or old scraggy to create effect, if it was a certain issue. I really just want the magazine to work as well as I am picturing in my head. I feel as if I want to do something yet I can't do it.


The willing models I could use is my boyfriend and his friends for a boy band, or random people. The struggle would be a proper camera. I really want this magazine to work effectively to secure myself a B or above in the exam and coursework. I will have to work hard for this photo photo and get a range just so I can choose which one if the best out of them. I want a serious looking front cover unless themed differently but I think they work best with not allot of expression.

Music magazine audience research

This is my readership profile for my magazine flawd.

Here I used a focus group to gather information about my style of magazine. I used an estimated guess on the statistics however and did this by using NME and Q's statistics and coming up with it from their. I asked a few people who had looked at my magazine some questions that are answered in the readers agree section and also noted some of the things, readers like to do at the bottom.

THIS IS THE OFFICIAL START OF MY MUSIC MAGAZINE COURSEWORK.
I will be updating this blog post, updating my progress with what I do in lessons and in free time. Happy Following.
Today I have started to choose a masthead name or design. I am looking for a indie looking band which means that it has to be a bit weird or quirky. I want my design different than others.
I will be uploading a design soon enough to shows some of my idea for a name called BACK UP.

 

 

I have names my magazine DRUGGED. This is because I believe that the magazines like this will become addictive and some of the bands that are used in them are also addicting to read about and to follow so i believe the title  fits quite well. Also indie music artists tend to be out of control and may be actually on drugs and wild. The name Drugged links with the font which I have chosen. This was a  distraught look that I found which links to the idea of drugs causing mad things and weird goings on.

 

 

 

 

I like all of these fonts.

I like all of these titles. The other name that I may change it to is FLAWD. I like this because sometimes the music can be flawd and I generally like the way it looks as a music magazine title. I may change my mind with drugged and flawd however. I don't seem to be able to make my mind up.

I particularly like this font.

 

 I have chosen the FLAWD logo and the first one that you can see. I have however changed the A in it to bold and with a red outline to make it a bit different and to stand out. The word flawed except the A is also blurred.

 I am wanting some photos of maybe a band of 3 -5 people. On the front with them either being funny or serious looking into the screen almost like these. I want these as my COVER PHOTO.

 This one is just fun and I like it.

 This one look more sophisticated.

 I like the simplicity of this one. But the arrangement is really good and I would like to do something like this.

 I like this one because of the expressions on their faces..

 I like these, because they are different and it just looks good on the front cover.

I really like these below as ideas for contents pages.

  I like this contents page because of the picture and because there isn't too much information.

   MASTHEAD. THIS IS THE ONE I AM STICKING TO EVEN THOUGH THE A MIGHT CHANGE THE WHOLE THING IS EXACTLY WHAT I'M DOING. MY MAGAZINE IS CALLED FLAWD.

 

I have also created a tag line for the band and what will draw the attention in.  

 

 

 

I am trying to get hold of a band that lives next door to my dad so that I can use them as my music magazine,. they fit the style of it as well.   

 

 

This is my magazine so far. It has some cover line and the main headline and the title of it. It also have some unique selling points. I really just need photography.
