Here are some of the things I found about college magazines. They have to appeal to the students that It aiming at unless they will not buy the magazine at all. They want stuff that interests them like, food, music, topics, compitions ect. Some students will want different things in different magazines but then creating the magazine reseach would have been done and the most type will have been taken from it. This means that some people wont buy it but some will.

Boys and girls will also want different things and thats another thing that needs sto be taken into concideration is both sex's.

THE ARCTIC MONKEYS

BODY LANGUAGE- Here is shows the band relaxed and posing with their arms folded to the front and the other members in the back are loose and laughing. There mouths are all open either smiling or asif they want to speak wehich shows they were having a good time. This photo shows a lighter side to the ARCTIC MONKEYS. unlike there usual dark, black and white photos and clothing and serious feirce stances.  Also here the from 2 are looking into the camera where as the back 2 are looknig away and laughing, which could show how the 2 in the fronts personalities are more serious than the 2 in the back and importance is portyayed like this to.  The light looks asif it is from the right, there are shadows and is looks like the photo has been took in a bright place. Noticed how that the lead singer of the band is slightly out of proportion may also connote something. Like i have lighly touched upon, the clothing is normal, working class clothes which shows the audience how they dont believe they are any differemt or superior.

The place that they are in could be a room or just a backdrop but it is light and the whole picture is colourful. The picture that has been took is a mid-shot of the band. There is no framing just the framing of the photo when it has been took. No editing has been took either. This could be because of they want themselfs bare to us.

The band is a dark band, with alex turners voice low and huskey. This brightness is a total contrast to it. This photo portrayes alex turner as the main man and we know that he is. He is the focus point for this photo because we know that. The way they are placed could also show the order there are valued with alex 1st as he is front and outword, then the band member next to him and then the 2 at the back.
They are a major band, and are followed seriously by the fans. They are on tour and love to make a big fuss at their gigs.

I have been to one of there gigs already and am going on one on the 22nd of October. I cannot wait. This band is so different and so much fun yet so much meaning goes into things and if not then there is a significant reason for the things that are in their songs and what they sing.

 This shot is a low angeled shot. This makes the first person you see look powrful and dominant, to the other person in the back ground. It creates the feel that the subject is dominating and everything in the background is small and controlled. Many political candidates prefer to be shot from a slightly lower angle to make themselves look taller and more important. In movies, the villain is often shot from a low angle to make them appear more sinister.

 Here is a naturally framed photograph. The subject is framed by the wall, almost window like. This makes the entire focus on what is in that frame. This technique also serves to stop motion by "capturing" the subject within the natural frame.Using natural framing enhances the feeling of depth in the photo, especially so if the frame contains visible details (not just a silhouette). The frame also works as a guide, leading the viewers eyes taking them inward to the main subject.

 This is a mid shot of a student around college. This type of shot just shows the face and the shoulders. Its not to close and its not to far away which means its in the middle. It Shows some part of the subject in more detail while still giving an impression of the whole subject. Makes people want to see he whole picture.

This is a close up of a lock on a old wooden chest. It shows the detail close up shows every aspect of it.Close-ups are one of the standard shots used regularly with medium shots and long shots. Close-ups display the most detail, but they do not include the broader scene. Moving in to a close-up or away from a close-up is a common type of zooming.

My name is Charlotte Louise Hall. I am 17 years old, a second year student at prior pursglove college.  My preference is music is none. I will listen to anything from Barbie girls to scremo if I liked it. I like artists such as Florence and the Machines, paramore and arctic monkeys aswell as pop artists. I love the charts and radio 1 also. I am a law, media and buisness student and prefare alot of corsework that exams which is why I have  chosen these subjects.

I have been to many concerts such as, xfactor, tini temper, professer green, eliza doolittle, pramore, B O B , Arctic monkeys which I am going to see for a second time and also Florence and the machines. As well as there starting acts. I am a big fan of music and believe it is a calming technique and frankly I would be lost without it. I am more a fan of the indie based music than rock so to speak as I think it is a lot more meaningfull and because you can actually understand the words.

My preference of music magazines would be NME. This is due to the way is looks and what content is has and the free stuff and interviews. Also it is always current and up to date with the current trend and what people are listening to.

I would buy and read NME all the time but with current technology you can read whatever you want online.

These are pictures of artic monkeys. Currently really big due to their new album. They have being features on NME a few times. I am off to see them on the 22nd of October which should be fun.
